As club football gives way to another international break, so too has England boss Fabio Capello named another England squad that frankly resembles the last set of players who conquered Bulgaria and Switzerland in Euro 2012 Qualification by a combined score of 7-1.
Euro 2012 Qualifiers: Fabio Capello Names England Squad To Face Montenegro
Bolton’s Kevin Davies is the only real surprise inclusion having earned his first international call up while Capello has recalled Robert Green of West Ham and Joe Cole of Liverpool.
Other notable players who’ve made the cut include Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, Tottenham’s Tom Huddlestone, Aston Villa’s Ashley Young and finally, the recalling of former captain Rio Ferdinand, his first since recovering from a knee injury that forced him out of the World Cup.
Wayne Rooney has been called up despite being rumored out with injury. The Manchester United striker has been out of form for club but enjoyed two fine performances last time out for country.
