At long last, we will finally find out all the answers to the questions surrounding the new-look Miami Heat. Will LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh thrive together? Will they be the greatest team ever? Will anyone have a chance to get within 50 points of them?
Miami Heat Begin Preseason Slate Tonight Against Detroit Pistons
Okay, maybe not. But we will at least get our first chance to see them in action tonight, as they host the Detroit Pistons in their preseason opener. The game begins on 7:30 and can be seen on NBATV, which surely will set a record for their highest-rated preseason game.
Since it’s preseason, you shouldn’t expect to see too much of the Miami Thrice. Heat coach Erik Spolestra said earlier that he expects them to mostly play in the first and third quarters. Via SB Nation’s Heat blog Peninsula is Mightier.
"I'm probably going to try 13-15 guys, maybe 15. The minutes will be dispersed. The first unit, we'll play them a significant amount of time in the first and third quarters."
As of right now, Miami's other two starters are Mario Chalmers and Joel Anthony, though Chalmers is listed as doubtful to play. If Chalmers can't play, Carlos Arroyo would start.
