Robbie Lawler v. Matt Lindland Made Official For Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu

From a Strikeforce press release:

Two fighters seeking a return to top-contender status in the deep STRIKEFORCE middleweight division will clash when “Ruthless “Robbie” Lawler (17-6, 1 NC) faces 2000 Olympic Games silver medalist Matt “The Law” Lindland (22-7) in a 185-pound match Saturday, Dec. 4, at Scottrade Center in St. Louis live on SHOWTIME® (10 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast).

Lawler and Lindland are both 1-2 in their last three fights and a win in this fight suddenly makes either one relevant in the middleweight division very quickly. Lindland’s chin has looked “dentable” over recent years and that could be a good sign for Lawler. Of course, Lawler is going to have to attempt to stay on the feet against a former Olympic silver medalist wrestler.

The card is headlined by a bout between Dan Henderson and Renato Sobral. Also on the card former football star Herschel Walker returns to mixed martial arts for only the second time and Paul Daley makes his Strikeforce debut against Scott Smith.
