Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett appears likely to face to undergo surgery on his right wrist, which he injured in the first half of Sunday's game against the Lions, which would end his season. While there is a possibility that the surgery could be held off until after the season is over, unless Barnett receives better news from the second medical opinion he will seek on Friday, it will be required sooner rather than later.
Packers LB Nick Barnett May Need Season-Ending Surgery On His Wrist
According to the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, the initial diagnosis Barnett received indicated that surgery will be necessary. Barnett returned to action Sunday after sustaining the injury and finished the game wearing a cast on his hand.
If Barnett undergoes the surgery, it would be the second time in three years that his season was ended prematurely with an injury. He missed the second half of the 2008 season after tearing a knee ligament.
