International Friendly Round-Up: Japan Downs Full-Strength Argentina; Uruguay Routs Indonesia

Shingi Okazaki's 19th minute goal have Japan an early lead in Saitama, a goal that would provide surprisingly sufficient to beat Argentina Friday morning, 1-0 in one of the day's first friendlies.

Sergio Batista, coming off a 4-1 win over world champions Spain, took a full team to Japan, starting the likes of Lionel Messi, Esteban Cambiasso, Javier Mascherano, Carlos Tévez and Diego Milito. Gonzalo Higuaín and Ángel Di María made substitute appearances, but the Blue Samurai were still able to maintain their clean sheet.

Elsewhere in Asia, Edinson Cavani and Luis Suárez had dueling hat-tricks at Uruguay's Celeste beat Indonesia, 1-7. Boas Salossa gave the hosts a surprising, 18th minute lead, one which held for 17 minutes before Cavani's equalizer. A Suárez goal minutes before half took the Uruguayans to half up 1-2, with a second half onslaught giving the South Americans the easy win.

And the last of the notable early matches, China defeated visiting Syria, 2-1.
