Esteban Cambiasso, Julio Cesar Doubts For Tuesday’s Champions League Match At Tottenham Hotspur

Rafa Benítez's first return to England could see his Inter Milan team without two of its key players. Midfielder Esteban Cambiasso and goalkeeper Julio César left Friday's match against Genoa with matching hamstring injuries. Both are doubts for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League match at Tottenham Hotspur, with the tournament's defending champion looking to stifle the momentum Spurs built in their 4-3 loss October 20th in Milan.

Then, Tottenham trailed by four goals at halftime only to come back to within a goal in the 92nd minute. Gareth Bale's three goals, all beating César to his far post, gave Spurs reason to believe a return trip to London, avoiding early match jitters, and playing with 11 men (having goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes dismissed early at the San Siro) would allow them to reverse the result.

Though Spurs will have to start back-up Carlo Cudicini in goal for the suspended Gomes, Tottenham will be emboldened if César misses the match. Suffering from a hamstring strain, the first-choice `keeper for Brazil was removed shortly after halftime on Friday and replaced by Luca Castellazzi, who will make his Champions League debut if called upon Tuesday. While his 26 minutes against Genoa marked his first league action of the season, the 35-year-old Castellazzi started 19 matches for Sampdoria last season.

Like César, Esteban Cambiasso also suffered a hamstring strain in Friday's match, being replaced by Sulley Muntari after 19 minutes. Muntari scored the match's only goal moments before halftime and could be set for his first start of the season, have appeared seven times off the bench between Serie A and Champions League.
