Injury Bug Strikes Jordan Staal Again With Broken Hand

Jordan Staal hasn't played a game yet this season, and his plans to return from a foot infection will be put off even longer. Staal will now miss another six to eight weeks after breaking his hand in practice, this according to Penguins GM, Ray Shero:

“Unfortunately Jordan broke his hand in a freak accident,” general manager Ray Shero said. “You always want to find the positives in every situation. He will get to come back and make an impact on a big portion of our season. That’s what we will look forward to. It’s disappointing, but not the end of the world because he was so close to coming back.”

The Penguins have been having injury issues with Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, and Alex Goligoski are all battling injuries.
