Chad Pennington Injury: Dolphins QB Leaves Game With Hurt Throwing Arm

Miami Dolphins QB Chad Pennington left today's game against the Tennessee Titans after the team's third offensive snap. While Pennington threw an incompletion, rushing Titans DE Dave Bell toppled the quarterback into Dolphins LT Jake Long, with Pennington's throwing arm getting caught on the big tackle's back. He left the field and almost immediately headed to the locker room.

Pennington has a history of injuries, playing all 16 games in a season only twice in his eight-year career as a starter-caliber quarterback for the Dolphins and New York Jets. He once won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award twice in three years, if that tells you anything. His throwing shoulder has endured three surgeries, and this injury certainly appears to have struck right around that area.

Chad Henne is in at quarterback, having been benched in favor of Pennington last week for throwing three interceptions. Henne then burned a timeout, earning boos from Miami's home crowd.
