Mike Thomas had a really good day for the Jaguars. But his last play made it an unforgettable one.
NFL Week 10 Scores And Results: Jaguars Top Texans On Game-Winning Hail Mary
Thomas caught a 50-yard Hail Mary from David Garrard — after Texans defensive back Glover Quin tried to bat it down with two hands and knocked it into the Jaguars wideout's arms — and walked into the end zone to give the Jaguars a 30-24 lead with no time remaining. By rule, the Jaguars had to attempt the extra point, and Josh Scobee knocked it through for a 31-24 win.
It was a crazy end to a game that swung from one team to the other twice in the last two minutes. First, Scobee shanked a potential go-ahead field goal; then, Texans tight end Joel Dreessen fumbled a pass that could have gotten the Texans into field goal range with under 15 seconds left. It was the only turnover for either team on the day.
When Garrard found Thomas, it was just the capper to a game full of momentum swings.
Garrard threw for 342 yards and two touchdowns in the victory, and Maurice Jones-Drew ran for 100 yards and two scores. Thomas had 149 yards and the game-winning touchdown.
Matt Schaub threw for 314 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Andre Johnson caught nine passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.
