When you lost 10 straight hockey games, it’s really only a matter of time before somebody loses their job. Whether that’s a trade made to shake up the player ranks or a firing in the management ranks, heads usually roll.
Amidst 10 Game Skid, Islanders Fire Head Coach Scott Gordon
The New York Islanders are not immune to this phenomenon.
General manager Garth Snow took action on Monday morning, firing head coach Scott Gordon. Bridgeport Sound Tigers head coach Jack Capuano has been promoted to interim head coach of the Islanders. According to a team press release, Gordon will be sticking around as an adviser to Snow.
