No. 8 Kentucky Vs. No. 13 Washington: Semifinal Action At The Maui Invitational
What should you expect from this matchup? Well, you've got two intriguing point guards in the Huskies' Isaiah Thomas and the Wildcats' Brandon Knight. Thomas, a junior, scored 19 points last night in Washington's 106-63 win over Virginia. Thanks to that effort, the Huskies have scored over 100 points in each of their three games so far this season.
Meanwhile, Knight, a freshman, had 13 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists in Kentucky’s 76-64 win over Oklahoma yesterday.
But the guy to watch in this one is Kentucky freshman Terrence Jones. Jones may be the best freshman in the country and yesterday he showed why. The 6’9 forward had 29 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocks against Oklahoma. Jones also originally committed to Washington before switching to Kentucky late in the recruiting process. The loss of Jones, a native of the Pacific Northwest, broke the heart of the Huskies fans.
This should be a fun one.
