Greg McElroy Injury: Alabama QB Leaves Iron Bowl After Hard Hit

In the fourth quarter of Friday's Alabama-Auburn Iron Bowl, Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy left the game with an injury after suffering a hard hit to the ground. McElroy was dragged to the ground by Auburn's T'Sharvan Bell. It was a clean hit, but it looked as though McElroy's head slammed against the turf.

After spending several minutes on the ground, the senior quarterback was able to walk off the field, if unsteadily. There’s no official word on the nature injury, but McElroy certainly appeared to be displaying concussion-like symptoms.

Backup quarterback A.J. McCarron appears likely to take the remainder of the game's snaps for the Crimson Tide, who need to turn things around quickly to avoid a heartbreaking loss in the Iron Bowl. More importantly, however, we hope the best for McElroy.
