Sometimes, the trendy upset picks come true.
Week 9 NFL, Patriots Vs. Browns: Colt McCoy Has Cleveland Thinking Upset
Colt McCoy and Cleveland were thought to have a chance to give the Patriots some trouble this week; the Browns have done that and then some, and now lead 27-14 in the fourth quarter.
McCoy's been excellent all day. The rookie from Texas has completed 14 of 19 passes for 174 yards, and has one rushing touchdown on a savvy weaving run that featured Josh Cribbs destroying Brandon Meriweather on a block.
The Browns have also stymied the Patriots offense, giving Tom Brady a headache with pressure and good coverage. Brady's just 19 for 36 for the day, and though the Patriots haven't been awful on offense, going three for 11 on third down has ended a number of drives prematurely. Aaron Hernandez has both of the Pats' touchdowns, on two short passes.
The Browns have also done a very good job of keeping Brady and Co. off the field, winning the time of possession battle by more than 10 minutes so far.
