Indiana Pacers Use 54 Point Third Quarter To Down Nuggets, 144-113

The Indiana Pacers used a scoring outburst of historic proportions to down the Denver Nuggets, 144-133. Leading by 10 out of the break, Indiana used a near-perfect third quarter to blow open the game. The Pacers connected on 20-21 shots and scored 54 points in the quarter, turning that 10 point lead into a comfortable 37 point margin. The 54 points in the quarter was a franchise record.

After shooting just 54 percent in the first half, the Pacers came out firing in the second. Mike Dunleavy hit all five of his three-point attempts and scored 24 of his game-high 31 points in the third. Indiana surpassed the century-mark with 2:29 to go in the quarter and doubled-up Denver, outscoring the Nuggets 54-27. Indiana's only miss in the quarter came on a last-second desperation shot by Josh McRoberts.

Darren Collison added 29 points for the Pacers and Tyler Hansbrough chipped-in 20 off the bench. Ty Lawson led the Nuggets with 19 points and three assists. Carmelo Anthony added 13 points, five rebounds and two assists. The Pacers improved to 3-3 on the year while the Nuggets fell to 4-4 with the loss.
