Devin Harris has had a pretty solid NBA career, but the one thing that has held him back more than anything is injuries. Harris has only played in at least 70 games in an NBA season twice in his first six seasons, and not since 2006/07. Now, he's hurt again.
Devin Harris Injures Left Knee In Nets’ Loss To Knicks
Harris was forced to leave in the third quarter of the New Jersey Nets' 111-100 loss to the New York Knicks on Tuesday night after teammate Kris Humphries fell on top of him trying to contest a fast break (see picture here). Harris left the game with what the team called a left knee strain, and will have an MRI on Wednesday to determine the severity of the injury.
Johnson was cautious when explaining Harris’ injury, saying the team is concerned about its co-captain and the hope is that the knee is strained.
Harris, speaking to reporters after the game, said the worst case scenario is a torn meniscus in his knee, an injury that could cause him to miss a significant amount of time.
Either way, Fensom reports that Harris will miss a few games. If it is indeed a torn meniscus, that would be a significant loss for a Nets team that needs Harris’ ability to create scoring opportunities.
