NCAA Basketball Rankings: Duke Maintains Unanimous No. 1 Position In AP Top 25 Poll

The Duke Blue Devils have been atop the rankings since the preseason, and they're showing no signs of relinquishing their stranglehold on that position.

Duke won both of its games this week -- defeating both Bradley and Saint Louis by an average of 36 points -- and maintained its unanimous No. 1 position in college basketball’s AP Top 25 Poll, released Monday. The Blue Devils (10-0) received all 65 first-place votes from the national media panel, earning a total of 1625 total votes. Ohio State is No. 2, with 1547 votes.

Kansas (9-0) moved up one spot to No. 3 in the country, while Connecticut, a perfect 8-0 on the season, continued its rise, up two spots to No. 4. Syracuse, also 10-0, rounds out the top-five.

The country’s other 10-0 teams, San Diego State and BYU, are No. 11 and No. 16, respectively.

Saturday’s clash between Pittsburgh and Tennessee resulted in some pretty significant movement for both sides: with the win, the Volunteers (7-0) jumped up four spots, from No. 11 to No. 7, while the Panthers, suffering their first loss of the year, dropped five spots, to No. 8.
