Eric Mangini Names Colt McCoy Browns Starting QB For Reminder Of Season

Rookie Colt McCoy will be the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback for the rest of the 2010 season, head coach Eric Mangini announced on Thursday. McCoy takes over for veteran Jake Delhomme, who has struggled in his past three starts, throwing the ball to the wrong team as he is wont to do.

McCoy has played in five of the Browns games this season, and has experienced mixed results. He's thrown three touchdowns to go with three interceptions, and completed an impressive 64 percent of his attempts. He last played in Cleveland's November 21 game against the Jaguars, in which he suffered a sprained ankle.

The rookie's first test after being named the starter is a relatively easy one: The Browns face the Bengals -- losers of 10 straight games -- in Week 15. After that, things get significantly more difficult, with the Ravens then Steelers coming to Cleveland to finish out the season.
