If you believe the NFL odds, the Houston Texans don't have much of a chance against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football. The line on the game is a whopping nine points in favor of the Eagles at this point. The Texans have lost four of their last five but are coming off of a shutout victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Eagles on the other hand have won three of their last four but are coming off of a loss to the Chicago Bears last week.
NFL Picks, Week 13: Houston Texans Vs. Philadelphia Eagles
With such a big line it's hard to imagine how the Texans don't roll over against the Eagles but we're not so sure that will happen. Houston certainly has the ability to match Philadelphia offensively. Whether they do that is another story but with Arian Foster and Andre Johnson (not suspended), Matt Schaub can help the Texans put up points.
Unfortunately for Houston, the Eagles aren't too shabby on offense either. In fact, they're the No. 2 ranked offense in the NFL. The key to stopping them is clearly figuring out what to do with Michael Vick. He seems to make things go and his accuracy along with his ability to run the ball make the Eagles dangerous.
Ultimately, we can’t pick against the Eagles at home. Schaub has already said the Eagles have the best fans in the NFL -- you hear that, Texans fans? -- so we’re going to stick with Philadelphia winning this game, but only by a touchdown.
