The Florida Gators were riding high after a 13-point pounding of the No. 6 Kansas St. Wildcats. Looking to continue their home stretch against a team they hadn't lost to since 1994, the Gators fell behind early against the Jacksonville Dolphins before ultimately coming up short in overtime.

Jacksonville's Keith McDougald led all scorers with 18, highlighted by four overtime free throws. Teammate Ayrod Hardy played 41 minutes, pitching in 12 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. As is usually the case with these absurd college basketball upsets, the Gators shot poorly, hitting only 35.6 percent from the field.
Florida's Erving Walker poured in 21 points, with big men Alex Tyrus and Vernon Macklin both posting double-doubles. The Gators dominated the boards 42 to 30, but a rebounding advantage can only make up for so much spotty shooting.
This was the Atlantic Sun's fifth victory over a major-conference team this season after the Kennesaw St. Owls beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the Stetson Hatters (yes!) overtook the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, the Campbell Fighting Camels (all right!) topped the Auburn Tigers, and the East Tennessee State Buccaneers outlasted the Mississippi St. Bulldogs.
