Chad Reuter of CBS Sports and NFL Draft Scout put his latest first-round mock draft up today.
Rock out with your mock draft out: Chad Reuter
As always, Reuter’s mock is filled with a lot of sound choices. It may grab your attention that he has four quarterbacks in the top 10, but maybe it shouldn’t.
Obviously he has Carolina taking Andrew Luck first overall. But after that, Reuter backs it up in his explanation for giving San Francisco Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett. Reuter writes:
Quarterback needs of teams in the top 10 --and the likelihood of reduced contracts allowed by a rookie wage scale in the new CBA -- may help the strong-armed Mallett to be picked early.
Makes sense. Along with the benching of Donovan McNabb, that also may be cause enough to give the Redskins Jake Locker eighth overall. Also, as Rob Staton of Seahawks Draft has pointed out, ‘Skins coach
The only disagreeable part I see in Reuter's mock is the offensive tackles Nate Solder and DeMarcus Love in the first round. While it could happen, it maybe shouldn't. I don't see either as first-round players. Of course, performances in the Senior Bowl could change that opinion.
