One of 2010’s more reliable fantasy options is out. That won’t be a problem for owners who rode Maurice Jones-Drew to championship game berths, right?
Fantasy Football News And Updates, Week 16: Maurice Jones-Drew Out For Jaguars
Jones-Drew will miss his first game due to injury in his NFL career today against the Redskins, thanks to a knee injury that limited him in practice all week and eventually led to him being ruled out by the Jaguars. Jones-Drew has also battled nagging injuries all year.
That’s a big blow for the Jaguars, who will need a big day from Jones-Drew’s backup, Rashad Jennings, if they are going to keep their AFC South and playoff hopes alive. But it’s also damaging to fantasy owners heading into playoff and championship week games.
Jennings would have made a great handcuff for Jones-Drew, but he’s likely gone, and owners will be scrambling to pull players from benches or the waiver wire if this is the first they’ve heard of Jones-Drew being out.
