Donovan McNabb's fling with the Washington Redskins hasn't gone nearly as well as either side might have hoped. It's no surprise that it might be over shortly.
Report: Donovan McNabb Will Seek Release From Redskins After 2010 Season
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that, according to a source, McNabb will ask for his release from the Redskins after the 2010 season.
This comes on the heels of McNabb signing a contract extension with the Redskins, then being benched for the remainder of the 2010 NFL season and being replaced as the Redskins' starter by Rex Grossman.
Schefter muses that while McNabb’s desire to leave has something to do with being able to choose where he finishes his career rather than be traded as he was last off-season, the Redskins will likely want some return on the veteran quarterback after having given up two draft picks for his services. Because of this, a release or trade may not happen quickly.
