English Premier League Tuesday: Quick Turnaround Sees Manchester United, Manchester City Back In Action

Before you have time to adjust to a English Premier League race that sees Chelsea four points back ... of third place, the league blisters past its half-way mark and begins its 20th match day with five 10:00 a.m. Eastern kick-offs. In all, there are seven matches scheduled on Tuesday, the third of four straight days of Premier League soccer, with the day's headline matches seeing a Manchester City given a chance to go top at Eastlands, Spurs hosting Newcastle United, and (in the day's last match) Manchester United with a chance to retain their league lead at St. Andrews'.

While the early start times will have most focusing on Eastlands and White Hart Lane, there are three other matches slotted for that time. Fulham, coming off a home loss to West Ham United, goes to the Brittania to face eighth place Stoke. Blackpool, having had not played since December 11, is at a Sunderland side looking to right itself after a loss at Old Trafford, while Blackburn looks for its first post-Sam Allardyce victory when they go to West Bromwich Albion.

At 12:30 p.m. Eastern, Everton hopes to build on last Monday's win at Eastlands with a trip to West Ham United, but once the rush of the early matches are over, most will be looking to Birmingham, where undefeated Manchester United, looking to go 18 unbeaten to start the season, visit Birmingham City. By that time, United's crosstown rivals, Manchester City, may be atop the table, meaning United will need to run their winning streak to five if they're to take first place into the weekend.

SB Nation Soccer will be updating you throughout the day, so check back for news on goals, injuries, red cards and results as we follow the league’s foray into its second half.
