Vikings Vs. Eagles Will Be First Tuesday NFL Game Since 1946

It's been over 50 years since the NFL played on a Tuesday but we'll see that this week as the Minnesota Vikings travel to Philadelphia to play the Eagles. The game was originally scheduled for Sunday night but was postponed because of a blizzard in Philadelphia. The last Tuesday game in the NFL was in 1946.

The Eagles are 14.5 point favorites over the Vikings which is a huge line. With the way the Eagles are playing lately, it's hard to disagree with that. The Eagles have won six of their last seven games and have the NFL's second ranked scoring offense. Michael Vick is an MVP candidate and DeSean Jackson...well, we know what he can do.

The Vikings are headed in the opposite direction. Though we've learned things can change quickly with Brett Favre, he's not expected to play Tuesday night. His absence is likely a large reason we're seeing such a big spread on the game.

Weather in Philadelphia has cleared up somewhat from the mess it was on Sunday night. Forecasters are calling for a low of 23 degrees, 10 percent chance of precipitation and 11 MPH winds.

This is the third Vikings game that has caused problems because of weather. Three weeks ago the Vikings had to play at Ford Field after the Metrodome roof collapsed, and then they had to play the Bears at the University of Minnesota on Monday Night Football and now they're playing on Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Check out Daily Norseman and Bleeding Green Nation for more on the game.
