Hakeem Nicks Injury Is A Broken Toe; Status Unknown For Giants Vs. Redskins

The New York Giants went two weeks without their top receiver Hakeem Nicks earlier this month and now there's a chance they'll miss him again. Though his status is unknown, Nicks has a broken big toe, according to the NY Daily News. No one has indicated what this means for his status in Week 17.

The Giants, who are already playing without Steve Smith, absolutely need him on Sunday when they face the Redskins. The Giants need to win and have the Packers lose in order to make the playoffs. If Nicks is out or limited, it would be a significant blow to the Giants playoff hopes.

Nicks is having a terrific season with 79 receptions for 1,052 yards and 11 touchdowns. He's been consistent when on the field and one of Eli Manning's best targets. With Smith's absence, his presence is even more important.

We’ll find out more about Nicks’ status as the practice week goes along. Check out Big Blue View for more on his injury.
