Italian Serie A, Week 15: Saturday Matches See Roma Travel To Chievo Verona Before AC Milan Welcome Brescia

Serie A likes to spread out the fun of the league. Yesterday, Lazio beat Inter Milan 3-1 to put themselves even on points with AC Milan, although they remain second in the table due to goal difference. Yet with AC Milan facing Brescia today at the San Siro, by the end of the day the Rossoneri could once again be alone up top.

That, of course, will require Milan to return to their winning ways. After four consecutive Serie A wins, Samporia held Milan to a draw last week, coming back from behind through Giampaolo Pazzini's equalizer. Can Brescia pull off such a feat today? The Rondinelle already held Inter to a draw in the same stadium, but comparing the two Milan sides these days is almost comparing apples and oranges. Brescia are just two points off the bottom but at least have the comfort of a full-strength squad, and they'll be counting on Andrea Caracciolo, the man who scored last month at the San Siro.

Milan, meanwhile, will be counting on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as it seems as though they cannot win a match if the Swede doesn't score. He'll be in the starting XI, of course, surrounded by Clarence Seedorf and Robinho. Alexandre Pato and Pippo Inzaghi are still injured, but the Rossoneri welcome back Andrea Pirlo in midfield. In other words, saying it will be difficult for Brescia to get any sort of result today would be an understatement. If they somehow manage to neutralize Ibra, it just might happen.

But before all that fun comes AS Roma at Chievo Verona. While the Lupi had a magical comeback against Bayern Munich two weeks ago in the Champions League, they followed that up with a 3-1 loss to Palermo last weekend. A sign that Roma are about to slide again? Don’t count on it, although you probably shouldn’t count on a win, either. Chievo have lost just twice at home this season, while Roma have won just once on the road. Roma are also keeping an eye on Tuesday’s Champions League match against Cluj, with the Lupi yet to clinch advancement to the knockout stages.
