Brescia never really looked like they had a shot in their game against A.C. Milan, but it only took a couple of minutes for the hosts to blow the match wide open at the San Siro. Goals from Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 28th and 30th minutes have given Milan not only a 3-0 lead in this match, but a 3 point lead in Serie A over second placed Lazio.
A.C. Milan Vs. Brescia: The Visitors Are Crumbling As Milan Take A 3-0 Lead
Robinho’s goal came as the result of a comedy of errors. A long back pass was played from the left side of midfield from Brescia, right between two Brescia defenders and into the path of Robinho. The Brazilian pounced on the mistake and calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net, erasing most, if not all doubts that the visitors had any way back into the match. After only 28 minutes, the game appeared to be over
If there were any doubters of Milan’s inherent superiority after the second goal, the third goal silenced all of them just two minutes later in the 30th. This goal had nothing to do with anyone’s errors or anyone’s setup. Instead, this one was all about the brilliance of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who hit an unassisted rocket into the back of the net from about 15 yards. It was a great moment for Ibrahimovic who was undoubtedly the most brilliant player on the pitch even before his stunning goal. The Swede has been criticized in the past for his attitude and his disappearance from Champions League matches, but in his short time at Milan, Ibrahimovic has proven that he is a class above his peers when he puts in maximum effort and he’s enjoying his football.
