The Oregon Ducks may not head to the BCS National Championship Game in Glendale with the top spot in the final BCS rankings, but they will certainly take the top spot in the USA Today Poll as a laurel for their season so far.
College Football Rankings: Week 15 USA Today Poll Slots Oregon In At Number One
Oregon tops the Week 15 USA Today poll, the first of two college football polls released this week. It’s Oregon’s eight consecutive week as the nation’s top team according to coaches.
Auburn, TCU, Wisconsin, and Stanford round out the top five of the USA Today poll, which remains more or less the same as the Week 14 edition.
The biggest mover is West Virginia, which moves up three spots after torching Cincinnati in a game that saw a mascot ejected for throwing snowballs. The biggest fall belongs to South Carolina, which drops four spots after being throttled by Auburn in the SEC Championship Game.
Elsewhere, Oklahoma’s win over Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship Game earns the Sooners a tie with Arkansas for eighth, and Connecticut fails to crack the top 25 despite winning the Big East with a win over South Florida.
The Week 15 AP Poll will be released later this afternoon, and we’ll have all sorts of updates in this StoryStream.
