Dez Bryant Injury: Broken Ankle May End Cowboys Rookie’s Season

Dez Bryant has been one of the NFL's most electrifying rookies this season, making big plays for the Cowboys in both the passing and return games. He won't be that any longer, thanks to a serious injury.

Bryant, banged up with multiple injuries entering today's game against the Colts, suffered a broken ankle late in the game, and had to be helped off the field by two trainers.

An ankle fracture’s a very serious injury, especially for a player who relies on his ability to make moves in the open field — typically, it takes six weeks or more to recover from a broken ankle, and that’s for the average non-NFL football player. Bryant may need more time, which may mean that he will not see the field again until 2011.

If that turns out to be true, it’s the end to an excellent rookie campaign for the Oklahoma State product. Bryant made six touchdown catches and returned two punts for touchdowns for the Cowboys in just 11 games.
