The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are having some serious injury issues through 13 weeks of the season. C Jeff Faine is done for the year leaving just one original linemen from the start of the year in the lineup and now comes the biggest blow of all: CB Aqib Talib is done for the year.
Aqib Talib Injury Will End His 2010 Bucs Season
According to Rick Stroud, he tore a tendon off his hip bone in Sunday’s loss to the Falcons.
Talib is probably the best player on the Bucs defense with six interceptions on the year. His replacement, E.J. Biggers, isn’t on the same level as Talib so the loss will hurt. Bad.
The Bucs, 7-5, had legitimate playoff hopes entering Week 13 but now they can’t feel so confident. Tampa Bay can win games without him but it won’t be easy by any means. As of now, they’re on the outside looking in
The silver lining in this is that Talib won’t require surgery so he’ll be expected to be ready next season.
The Bucs have four games remaining against the Redskins, Lions, Seahawks and Saints.
