NBC’s Olympic Pulse blog is asking its readers which Winter Olympics sport is the most dangerous. This is a silly question, because the Winter Olympic Games encompasses the sport of ski jumping, and better still, nordic combined, wherein one is expected to survive ski jumping and race cross-country afterwards. Any other sport, no matter how speedy, still involves some form of regular contact with the ground and at least the occasional opportunity to stop yourself hurtling away from it. (They also knock curling, which, let me tell you, is not for the faint of heart, particularly if our schoolyard full-contact curling league where you’re allowed to throw rocks ever catches on.)
