Bellator Fighting Championships Twitter account announced another huge signing for the promotion:
Bellator Fighting Championships Sign Featherweight Joe Warren
BREAKING: World Champion wrestler, featherweight MMA prodigy Joe Warren signs with Bellator
Warren was considered one of the brightest hopes for the American wrestling team at the 2008 Olympics but tested positive for THC (chemical in marijuana) and was not allowed to compete.
Joe then made his MMA debut against the talented Chase Beebe in March of 2009 as a part of the DREAM featherweight grand prix. He then earned a hard fought split decision victory over Japanese featherweight legend Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto in the second round of the GP, the loss was Yamamoto’s first since 2002.
Warren then picked up his first career loss as eventual tournament winner Bibiano Fernandes. Warren secured a quick takedown in the fight but gave up an arm which Bibiano took in an armbar for the submission in only forty-two seconds.
Bellator FC is a must watch promotion and I will continue to preach what I’ve been talking about for months now. Watching BFC is a chance to watch the future of the sport develop.
