Has there ever been a fighter with more verbal skills that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson? The finest minute in MMA trash talking history was provided by Rampage himself following his victory over Rashad Evans’s good friend and training partner Keith Jardine at UFC 96. The best part about his persona, is that he actually backs it all up in the cage.
Smack Talk 101 Featuring Rampage Jackson
↵Jackson, still dusting the rust off his gloves from his stint in Hollywood, appears to have not lost his touch when it comes to verbal assaults. Fighters Only recently got some good sound bytes from Rampage talking about his nemesis Rashad Evans.
↵↵“I am a fighter, for real... I have beat people that fought every month while I didn’t fight in years.”
↵“Those words he said on The Ultimate Fighter show are still around, I still got to hear it when fans bring it up all the time.... The time is going to come, he is going to get his. I am going to test his chin because he has got no chin. A guy with a big mouth like that, and he ain’t got a chin. Its ironic.”
↵↵Though the fights on TUF 10 left a lot to be desired, the verbal sparring between Rampage and Rashad that took center stage every other episode was worthy of our attention. And with their fight finally officially scheduled for UFC 114 on May 29, we are no doubt in store for a great war of words as the hype machine rolls out.
