UFC Cuts Frank Trigg, Phillipe Nover, Tim Hague and Mark Coleman

Earlier today we shared the news of two cuts made on the heels of UFC 109 but to recap.

Five Ounces of Pain reported on Mark Coleman:

It looks like it’s the end of the road between Mark Coleman and the UFC, as FiveOuncesofPain.com has recently been able to confirm through sources close to the situation that the UFC Hall of Famer has been released from the promotion following the recent defeat at the hands of fellow MMA legend, Randy Couture.

Tim Hague broke the bad news via his Facebook:

Tim “The Thrashing Machine” Hague was released from the UFC... Time to train harder, beat up some more people and work back to the big show!

Heavy.com came through with news of Phillipe Nover’s cut:

UFC sources also confirmed with Heavy.com that Nover, the former Ultimate Fighter star who was once famously dubbed “the lightweight Anderson Silva” by UFC president Dana White, has also been released from his contract. Nover lost to fellow Ultimate Fighter alum Rob Emerson at UFC 109, taking his UFC record to 0-3.

And now Frank Trigg has given confirmation of his release to MMA Junkie:

After posting a 6-1 record to earn his way back into the organization and signing a new deal with the UFC in 2009, Trigg was notified on Monday that he had been dropped from the UFC after a knockout loss to Matt Serra at this past weekend’s UFC 109 event.
Trigg confirmed the news with MMAjunkie.com on Wednesday.
Trigg said he held off on sharing the news until he could notify family members. He said he’s undecided if he’ll pursue opportunities outside the organization.

Not a lot of shock here. Coleman and Trigg are veterans who don’t seem to have it anymore. Hague got jobbed by the judges but he’s not an exceptional talent by any stretch. And as for Nover, he’s just been a phenomenal disappointment in his time in the promotion.

Best wishes to each of these men as they take the next steps in their journeys as fighters and men.
