Stacey Cook Airlifted Off Mountain After Crash In Training

The U.S. women’s ski team, already suffering with Lindsey Vonn’s injury, took another hit Thursday when Stacey Cook suffered a scary crash in a training run (follow the link for video).

↵↵Cook, wearing bib number two, crashed heavily into the side netting at speed and despite getting up she was later airlifted to hospital for further checks.

↵A US Ski team spokesman said more details on Cook’s injuries would be released later.

↵After Cook’s crash, they canceled the remainder of the training runs, because of heavy fog resulting in low visibility. Olympic rules state that every competitor must complete at least one training session before a super-combined or downhill competition. There are training sessions scheduled on both Friday and Saturday; the women’s super-combined is set for Sunday.
