Three years after David Beckham became the first old European star to sign for an MLS team, it’s possible Spanish legend Raul may be next.
Is Raul Set To Join MLS’ Red Bulls?
ESPN Soccernet quotes the Spanish newspaper Marca, who referred to sources close to the Real Madrid star saying he will play for the New York Red Bulls next year.
Real Madrid’s record-breaking captain Raul will join MLS side New York Red Bulls next season, according to Spanish daily Marca.
The Madrid-based newspaper, that has close ties with Real, claims Raul is eager to play in America and will be paid the same wage he receives at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Raul’s agent says that Raul is considering several offers, including from the Red Bulls, but could elect to stay in Spain.
The Red Bulls have also worked to get French star Thierry Henry, as well as retired Italian legend Paolo Maldini.
