Holland’s Sven Kramer Turns In Olympic Record In Men’s Speed Skating 5000 m

In a sport where the Dutch rule, Sven Kramer is the king. The reigning world champion turned in an Olympic record time of 6:14:60 in the Men’s Speed Skating 5000 m Saturday afternoon. With four competitors (two groups of two) still to skate, Kramer is the current leader. Seung-Hoon Lee the Republic of Korea is second,a little more than two seconds behind, while Kramer’s countryman Bob de Jong is third.

American Shani Davis, who was paired with Kramer, finished with a time of 6:28:44, and is currently in eighth place.
