Winter Olympics Schedule, Day 3: Medals Awarded In Men’s Luge, Figure Skating Begins

In Day 3 at the 2010 Winter Olympics, five gold medals are set to be awarded, including Men’s Luge. Additionally, the U.S. Women’s Hockey team begins their tournament, and Figure Skating opens its competition with the Pairs Short Program, live in prime time. All times eastern.

WHAT TO WATCH:

1 p.m.-6 p.m. - NBC - The U.S. will look for its first ever medal in the Nordic Combined (a combination of Individual Normal Hill Ski Jump and a 10 km cross country skiing race). Additionally, there will be medals earned in Ladies’ 3000m Speed Skating, Men’s 10km Sprint Biathlon and Men’s Luge.

3 p.m.-5:30 p.m. - USA - Women’s Hockey - Team USA, led by four-time Olympians Angela Ruggiero and Jenny Potter, opens against China in a Group B round-robin game.

7:30 p.m.-10 p.m. - CNBC - Women’s Hockey - Round-robin action continues from Vancouver as Finland takes on Russia in an early Group B contest.

7 p.m.-11:00 p.m. - NBC - The prime time schedule includes Men’s Luge (most likely on tape delay for the medal round), Freestyle Skiing’s Men’s Moguls Final and the start of Figure Skating with the Pairs Short Program, which will be shown live (ya know, just not on the West Coast).

1:00 p.m. - Alpine Skiing - Ladies’ Super Combined Downhill Postponed until Thursday
2:15 p.m. - Biathlon - Men’s 10 km Sprint (MEDAL EVENT)
3:00 p.m. - Ice Hockey - Women’s Preliminary Round - Group B Game 3 - United States vs China
4:00 p.m. - Alpine Skiing - Ladies’ Super Combined Slalom (MEDAL EVENT) Postponed until Thursday
4:00 p.m. - Luge - Men’s Singles Run 3
4:00 p.m. - Speed Skating - Ladies’ 3000 m (MEDAL EVENT)
4:45 p.m. - Nordic Combined - Individual NH/10 km (MEDAL EVENT)
5:30 p.m. - Freestyle Skiing - Men’s Moguls Qualification
6:00 p.m. - Luge - Men’s Singles Run 4 (MEDAL EVENT)
7:30 p.m. - Figure Skating - Pairs Short Program
7:30 p.m. - Ice Hockey - Women’s Preliminary Round - Group B Game 4 - Finland vs Russian Federation
8:30 p.m. - Freestyle Skiing - Men’s Moguls Final (MEDAL EVENT)
