Boston College Assistant Allegedly Gets Pushy with an FSU Band Member

Things are rough at Boston College these days. If things hold through the finish of this season, the Eagles could be left out of the postseason for the second time in three seasons. Most recently, BC dropped a road contest against Florida State, 62-47. No tourney bubbles were made or broken in this one, but things allegedly got a little wild before the game even started between BC assistant Bonzie Colson and an FSU band member. The details come thanks to Tallahassee.com:↵↵⇥ The band member stated in writing that he was shoved by Boston College assistant coach Bonzie Colson, according to a report taken by an off-duty trooper working at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center.↵⇥↵⇥ “I ... was exiting the basketball court and found myself stuck between the media table and the basketball team,” the student wrote. “A coach was in my way ... I looked at him and said, ‘excuse me.’ He took his hands, one on each of my shoulders, and shoved me by him.”↵⇥
↵⇥↵⇥The student said that Colson then told him, “Get the (expletive) off my court.”↵⇥Two other students submitted written witness statements supporting the band member’s story.↵⇥
↵↵↵FSUPD is investigating the incident as possible battery. The only incident that even remotely comes to mind for me is Miami (OH) football assistant Jon Wauford shoved a fan after a game against Marshall, but that he was led off in cuffs tells me this is really an apples-to-oranges situation. I’ve yet to see any video of the incident, but I don’t suspect this is the last we’ll hear of this now that the police are involved.↵
↵↵*The photo in this post is completely unrelated to the incident. It’s just the only shot of the FSU band I could find from the Associated Press at a basketball game.↵
