Shaun White Wins Men’s Halfpipe Gold, Lago Wins Bronze

American Shaun White has defended his gold medal in Men’s Halfpipe at the 2010 Vancouver Games.

White, who clearly operates on a higher level than other snowboarders (and physics), threw down a combination of big air and technical tricks that the rest of the competition simply could not keep up with.

How good was Shaun White Wednesday night? He notched the highest score of the event ... on his victory run.

Having already wrapped up the gold based on his performance in the first run, White decided to go ahead and put on a show for the crowd anyways. After a pretty epic bro-tastic chat with the U.S. coaching staff, in which they encouraged him to do whatever he wanted, and reminded him that he would “stomp the sh** out of it” (all of which NBC gloriously aired live), White threw down the best victory lap you’ll ever see.

Fellow American Scott Lago picked up the bronze medal, while Finland’s Peetu Piiroinen earned silver.

And yes: Shaun White did the double McTwist 1260. But in case you missed it, here it is.
