With a little over five minutes left in the third period, Ryan Malone has pushed the USA lead to 4-1. Malone came down the right side, crashed the net and put a rebound past Norwegian goaltender Pal Grotnes.
Malone Gives USA 4-1 Lead Late
The original shot was set up by Ryan Miller, who fed defenseman Jack Johnson up the right wing. Johnson then streaked through the neutral zone and threw a booming slap shot on goal. Grotnes made the initial save, but Malone was right there to jam home the juicy rebound.
