Teter scored a 42.4, and is ahead of China’s Liu Jiayu by 3.1 points. Sophie Rodriguez of France is currently in third. Kelly Clark, the highest scoring American in qualifying, sits in seventh place. Teammates Elena Hight is in eighth.
Gretchen Bleiler, the silver medalist in Torino, fell in her first run, and is ranked 10th.
Every competitor has one more run, and only the highest of their two scores counts.
