Free agent outfielder Johnny Damon has been linked to several teams during this offseason, such as the White Sox, A's, and Royals. On Saturday, it looks as though he's headed to the Tigers. Yahoo Sports' Tim Brown tweets:
Johnny Damon Signs One-Year Deal With Detroit Tigers
WWJJD? Go to Detroit, looks like. Johnny Damon and the Tigers are near agreement, according to sources.
In further tweets, Brown reports that the deal being discussed is for one year and about $8 million, with no option for a second season.
Damon is now 36 years old, but in 2009 he posted the highest OPS+ of his career (126).
