Switzerland’s Simon Ammann Wins Individual LH Ski Jump Gold
Ammann is now the first ski jumper ever to win four individual Olympic titles. In his final round jumps, he achieved scores of 144.7 and 138.9. Both scores were higher than any of his opponents on either final-round jump.
Finishing with the silver was Adama Malysz of Poland, whose total final round score was 269.4 compared to Ammann’s 283.6. Austria’s Gregor Schlierenzauer claimed the bronze medal with a 262.2 score.
No Americans made it to the final round. Peter Frenette narrowly missed the cut in the first round.
