Team USA’s Tim Burke is set to pursue Olympic glory in Sunday afternoon’s biathlon medal round. If he can manage to win the gold, he just might be the best athlete named Tim Burke of all time.

↵I’m referring, of course, to Tim Burke, an effective relief pitcher during the ‘80s and early ‘90s who spent the bulk of his career with the Montreal Expos. Burke was sort of a landmark -- if you were better-known than him, you were a star, and if you weren’t, you were just an average player. Tim Burke was neither of these. He was Tim Burke.
