Knicks Reach New Depths, Lose 83-67 To Bucks

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Andrew Bogut scored 24 points, grabbed 20 rebounds and blocked five shots, guiding the Bucks to an 83-67 victory over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

New York shot 33.8 percent from the floor and scored a grand total of 26 points over the final 24 minutes en route to its lowest scoring output of the season and seventh straight loss.

John Salmons chipped in 15 points, while Luc Mbah a Moute added 11 points and 11 rebounds for Milwaukee, which has won three straight and nine of 12 overall. Ersan Ilyasova and Carlos Delfino each scored 10 in the win.

Tracy McGrady, in his second game in a Knicks uniform, scored a team-high 15 points but was noticeably limping in the fourth quarter and didn't play over the final 3 1/2 minutes. David Lee recorded 12 points and 13 rebounds in defeat.

The Knicks trailed 63-55 heading to the fourth and were within six, 67-61, on Danilo Gallinari’s emphatic slam 2 1/2 minutes in.

After Eddie House missed a basket in an attempt to get within four, Jerry Stackhouse hit a three, Luke Ridnour made a layup and Salmons’ steal and lay- in pushed Milwaukee’s margin to 13.

The closest the Knicks got the rest of the way was nine, as a Salmons three- pointer and Ridnour jumper made for an 81-67 game with 2 1/2 minutes to play, putting the game out of reach.

Bogut scored six straight points inside to give the Bucks an early 9-2 lead.

Milwaukee held a 27-20 edge after 12 minutes and 47-41 advantage at halftime after both teams struggled offensively in the second frame.

The third quarter was much of the same for both teams, though the Knicks scored 12 straight points to take their only lead of the game, 53-51, on Wilson Chandler’s reverse layup with 5:20 left in the stanza.

The Bucks answered immediately with a 12-0 run of their own, with two Brandon Jennings free throws capping the stretch for a 63-53 lead.
