Weber the Magnificent?

↵Poof! Just like that, Bill Weber has gone from lead NASCAR announcer at TNT to...a magician?

↵Weber told USA Today’s sports media columnist Michael Hiestand that he’s transitioning to a career in magic.

↵No, really! Hiestand reports Weber has been performing as a magician.

↵↵“It’s a passion I hope to turn into a profession,” says Weber, who says his TNT contract wasn’t renewed. “I hope to continue sports announcing, but this is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.”

↵↵His first trick was making his job at TNT disappear. Weber was suddenly suspended during the New Hampshire race weekend last summer – rumors flew about an altercation of some kind – and he never returned to the broadcast.

↵For more on Weber and his future plans, read Hiestand’s story here (the Weber part is at the bottom).

↵As Weber would say, “We looked it up – so you don’t have to.”
