The offending text has since been disappeared from Plushie’s official website (how very Russian!), which gives me hope that this whole “controversy” is maybe gonna die off. Because, come on. It’s not a controversy, no matter how much of a ratings spike that turn of phrase puts in the nightly news. It’s a hissy fit being pitched at top volume on an international stage, and its thrower is an embarrassment to sport who doesn’t deserve an iota more of your valuable time.
