Lindsey Vonn Breaks Finger In Giant Slalom Crash

Lindsey Vonn suffered a broken pinkie on her right hand when she crashed hard on the first run of Wednesday’s Giant Slalom, according to NBC News. It is unknown whether she will compete in Friday’s Slalom competition.

In the first run of today’s Women’s Giant Slalom, Vonn spun out of control and fell hard on her hip, injuring her hand in the process. She was seen afterward with ice on the pinkie, and was due for an X-ray. “I got a little bit too inside and lost my outside ski. My knee came up and hit my chin. ... I don’t know honestly how I hurt my hand.”

The second run of the Giant Slalom has been postponed because of fog until Thursday at 12:30 p.m. ET. The final event of women’s alpine, Slalom, is set for Friday, at 1 p.m. ET.
