John Moon has spent 38 years as the men’s and women’s coach at Seton Hall. Among his track stars are 71 All-Americans and seven NCAA champions. Sadly, if he wants to keep building to that resume, he’ll have to do it elsewhere.
Seton Hall Shuffles Loose It’s Shot-Putters
↵↵In a swift and sudden move designed to “maximize its financial resources,” Seton Hall announced that four spots -- men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field -- will be wiped from the university’s athletic budget after this season. In order to meet NCAA and Title IX requirements, Seton Hall will add women’s golf to give it 14 sports.
↵↵These things happen. However, the way the school went about it leaves something to be desired. Moon found out that his program and his job would be eliminated pretty much the same time the rest of the world did. The university will honor all scholarships and allow anyone to transfer without issue, at least.
